Welch Allyn Coaxial Ophthalmoscope | Perform Flawless Exams
Our best coaxial just got better! Introducing, the Welch Allyn, 3.5 volt, AutoStep coaxial ophthalmoscope head, model 11730. This top of the line coaxial ophthalmoscope includes everything you’d expect from a Welch Allyn scope such as our long lasting, consistent, cool, bright white, Halogen light that ensures you observe true tissue color on every exam, with no reflections or obstructions, but it just starts there. With our coaxial optical system, the axis of illumination is now coincidental with the axis of vision into the retina, which eliminates the shadows that happen with standard optics and the polarizing filter nearly eliminates corneal reflection, which allows you to be able to perform productive examinations with nearly any sized pupil or vitreous disorder. The AutoStep also offers an exceptionally large choice of 68 viewing lenses that range from -30 to +38 diopters which can all be accessed with our convenient one hand selection dial, helping to compensate for refractive error, positional changes in the ophthalmoscope or changes in viewing requirements. Since making examinations easier is one of the Welch Allyn tenants, the lens dial is illuminated allowing the medical professional to see the lens being used during the exam even in a darkened room. As if all of this wasn’t enough, this unit has eighteen possible unique aperture and filter combinations. Your lenses remain pristine because the sealed optics on this unit keeps out dust and debris. This AutoStep coaxial ophthalmoscope will be the most useful tool in your diagnostic arsenal whether you’re studying the fundus, iris or cornea.
