Product Overview
Just when you thought we couldn’t make it any better, we bring you the Welch Allyn PanOptic ophthalmoscope head, model 11810/11820. This absolutely incredible scope incorporates our patented Axial PointSource optical system that converges light to a point at the cornea, finally giving medical professionals access to even small pupils. Once the light gets inside of the pupil, it diverges to the retina and provides a wide area of light onto the fundus providing five times more illumination on nearly the same axis, which creates the most complete field of view attainable in an undilated pupil. With a 26% increase in magnification over a standard scope and an 25 degree field of view, the PanOptic takes your diagnostic possibilities to a level no other scope has been able to provide. You will be able to adjust the -20 to +20 diopters focusing range very precisely with the continuous, smooth action of our focusing wheel which helps to compensate for refractive error, positional changes in the ophthalmoscope or changes in viewing requirements. Our updated ergonomic patient side eyecup blocks out interference from ambient light and allows the medical professional to establish and maintain a proper viewing distance and stabilization, making the exam more comfortable for both the patient and the professional. Whether you’re examining the fundus, iris, cornea or other ocular structures, this unit is going to give you better access and move viewing capability than has ever been possible with a standard ophthalmoscope.
